The pineapple has long been a symbol of hospitality and a sense of welcome.  This painting will be included in the Tomato Art Show as part of the Tomato Art Fest in East Nashville on August 9.  Preview party for the art show is Friday August 8 at Art & Invention Gallery. For more information call (615) 226-2070.  This piece is artfully framed with a custom made frame as shown in the image below.  I had a lot of fun with this.

There is a lot of farm land in Middle Tennessee and a lot of cows.  So I thought it appropriate to have a cow painting in my portfolio.  It was fun to paint so there may be more cows in the future.

A fun part of the painting process for me is naming the paintings.  While painting my laundry room the idea to paint a load of laundry and call it the "Fabric of Our Lives" popped into my head.  I was going for as much color as possible thinking this painting would be a fun way to liven up any laundry room.

My mother always used the term "pocketbook", so this makes me think of her.  As a little girl, I always felt very dressed up when I had a "pocketbook" to match my outfit.
